Thank you Greg & Brigid for your generous donation!

North Trail Maintenance Days are Restarting This Friday. As some of you might already know, Richard Spenard, LaVESTA’s 2023/24 volunteer of the year that led the trail maintenance charge last season is battling a sickness back in Quebec and will not be coming down. We will miss him this season! Take good care Richard and we’ll see you back here soon.

Nonato Lucero, that already handled the trails this summer, will continue work every Friday morning, and he wants our help. The first task is to finish the northernmost connector from Nonato to Slim Jim’s. To help this week, meet in the arroyo between the bottom of Pista Pista and Mala Mujer at 7:30 on Friday, grab a tool and a new 2024/25 sticker (Thank you Maryann Leyen for creating those!) and help finish the work. You can see the trail on Trailforks here https://www.trailforks.com/trails/new-nonato-connector-3/

Volunteers are encouraged to check out our trail building and maintenance resources on the LaVESTA web site here – https://lavesta.org/staging/trail-resources/ â€“ There is some really good reading.

Two new trail connectors are open:

https://www.trailforks.com/trails/new-nonato-access-1/ â€“ this is probably going to be used mostly for uphill traffic

https://www.trailforks.com/trails/new-nonato-access-2/ â€“ this is probably going to be a good downhill in itself

They are short but beautiful, go check them out on your next ride.

Also a big thank you to Diego Angel M and Jesús Calderón for getting the bike library ready – classes start tomorrow!

Remember that LaVESTA is a volunteer organization completely run through donations from people like you!

If you want to help us, please donate.
